Between auditions, Ernie began helping to prepare tax returns with the V.I.T.A. (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program of the actor unions (AEA, AFTRA, SAG). Shortly thereafter, he became a licensed
tax preparer and started preparing tax returns to help pay the rent
A few years later, he passed the grueling Enrolled Agent exam and is now allowed to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Ernie enjoys helping entertainment professionals prepare their tax returns, while he continues to perform.
